Privacy controls in Settings
What is stored where
In Local mode on the CLI, conversations stay on your device and are never uploaded. CLI BYOK sends requests directly to the provider you select. The CLI is coming soon and VS Code is coming soon. Web, Mobile, Desktop and Chrome use managed cloud and do not accept provider keys. Managed cloud conversations are encrypted in transit, and at rest by the database and object-storage vendors that hold them, as a property of those vendors' platforms and not a layer AGI adds. AGI does not sell your data, and does not use customer conversation content to train AGI-owned models. The Free plan is served by free capacity from model providers, AGI picks the provider for the default model, and some of those providers' terms may allow training on what you send; to keep your chats out of training, turn on Only use models that do not train on your chats in Settings, Privacy.
Diagnostics
Browser crash reports and consent-gated usage counts help fix bugs. They are disabled by default and can be turned on or off in Settings, Privacy. Sensitive request fields are removed before error reports are sent; free-text diagnostic messages may remain after secrets are masked. Server-side operational error reporting can run when configured and is not controlled by the browser setting.
Temporary chats
"Start new chats as temporary" makes every new conversation outside a project temporary: no message written to your history, no memory, and attachments kept out of the Library. The conversation record and any attachment are held for up to 30 days and then removed. An individual conversation can still be switched. A chat you start inside a project is always saved to it.
Your data in the product
Settings, Privacy gathers the controls in one place: shared links created from web conversations, archived chats, recently deleted chats, bulk archive and delete, the files and media you uploaded or AGI generated, memory preferences, the JSON export, and the privacy requests page for consent and rights requests.
Where managed cloud data is hosted
Hosted data lives in the United States. EU and UK residency hosting is on the roadmap and is not available today. Local conversations never leave your device in the first place.
Sessions and devices
Session management lives in Settings, Account rather than here: active sessions, revoking one device, and logging out everywhere. The privacy page links across to it rather than duplicating the controls.
